Initial Consultation
I welcome the opportunity to meet with parents and students for a complimentary 30-minute session to determine whether or not we are a good fit for the college admissions essay writing process. In this discussion, we’ll explore academic goals, deadlines, fees, and logistics.
Brainstorming
I often hear students say, “I haven’t had any life-changing moments.” Don't worry. We’re not necessarily looking for the big ah-ha moment, but rather the nuances in life that form the whole. This is where the authentic experience lies and it is my job to help you discover these moments and make the connections.
Unpacking
For some students, it’s a brain dump of disparate thoughts, for others it’s a linear outline. I take the time to understand each student’s personal writing process and style so that we can be most efficient and productive in getting ideas into an initial structure that will serve as the foundation for the essay.
Writing
This is where it gets fun. I’m a writer and editor by trade, so I will push you to realize the strongest personal essay that will set you apart in the application process. From the first draft to the final product, there will be many revisions and drafts in between. I can assure you that the final product will be a polished essay, written in your voice, that will speak to your core essence.
