About Me
I bring experience and compassion to the essay writing process.
As a professional journalist and writer, I have covered everything from imploding financial markets to the latest food trends, and my work has appeared in a variety of publications. I also had a stint as a high school Social Studies teacher, which is when I realized how much I enjoy working with teenagers and sharing my love of writing.
Ever since, while raising my children, I’ve worked as a freelance writer and in various educational capacities, tutoring students, and for a college access organization.
I attended Northwestern University as an undergraduate student and also studied at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, where I earned a Master of Science.
I live in a Chicago suburb with my husband, three teenagers, and my two dogs, Roxy and Wilson. In my free time, I play racquet sports and teach a volunteer yoga class for a program serving under-resourced families in my community.
